Evidence, method and decisions.

A technical reading of how a question is framed, sources are preserved, relationships are examined and conclusions are communicated within the limits of the available evidence.

Badenas practice

Badenas Perícias works across engineering, systems, documents and technical evidence for legal teams and organizations. The scope begins with the question, the object and the sources available.

Fraud and digital evidence

A recorded transaction, a successful authentication and a person's identity are different claims. Technical analysis correlates chronology, device, authentication, authorization and risk records while keeping source and limitations visible.

Blockchain and cryptoassets

On-chain records can establish events within a network. Identity, control, custody and ownership require context and often off-chain sources. Direct observation, protocol interpretation and attribution remain separate.

Engineering and causation

Sequence alone does not establish the mechanism of a failure. Design, equipment condition, operation, measurements, maintenance and competing explanations help distinguish event, cause, consequence and responsibility.

Expert strategy

Technical assistance may begin before an examination: frame the dispute, identify volatile sources, prepare testable questions and plan the analysis. Later, method, observations and limitations guide review of the expert report.

Matrix Method

Frame, Preserve, Examine, Correlate and Communicate describe the technical sequence. Review cuts across every stage to test consistency, gaps and the reach of each inference.

  1. 01Frame

Define the technical question, object and purpose.

  2. 02Preserve

Record relevant source origin, collection, access and transformations.

  3. 03Examine

Analyse the object using procedures proportionate to the technical question.

  4. 04Correlate

Relate documents, records, mechanisms and the sequence of events.

  5. 05Communicate

Present findings, inferences, gaps and limitations distinctly.

Review

Scope, sources and communication are reviewed throughout the work.

Checklist

A preparation guide for the first conversation and subsequent scoping. Sensitive material should be shared only through an appropriate channel after triage.

Checklist

Anonymized references

Public references must protect confidentiality and include only material reviewed for publication. The Badenas catalogue organizes technical objects and anonymized records; it is no substitute for examining a specific matter.

Technical responsibility

Alan Badenas dos Santos is responsible for the technical practice presented here. Independence, traceability, clear scope and explicit limitations guide the communication of findings.

Next step

Describe the context and principal technical question for initial scoping. Reviewing sensitive documents and data requires an agreed scope and an appropriate channel.
